Future Enhancements
The Concept Demo is only a foretaste of what’s possible.
-
Whilst cycling through all the options pertinent to each vehicle a Save element will be introduced so that at the end of the interactive process the customer’s chosen vehicle can be displayed within the Virtual Showroom. This resulting model could be saved within the system for subsequent recall, or given to the customer on a CD-ROM, for ongoing customer interaction.
-
Cost can be associated with all selected elements, extracted in real-time from a secure database so that an accumulative price can be displayed alongside the vehicle. If subsequent amendments to the customer’s original selection were required then the cost would reflect those changes dynamically.
-
A Test Track can be incorporated within the 3D environment that can include ramps, straights, chicanes, inclines, slippery surfaces, indeed any of the real world challenges that the vehicle has built its reputation on overcoming. The customer can choose whether to experience how the vehicle performs from both inside and outside, where the benefits of a floating camera will enable the customer to view the vehicles performance from any angle and magnification.
-
After a customer has built their car a Dealer would be able to take screenshots at photographic resolution from any angle, ready for printing in hard copy, or even press a button and automatically generate a complete 360° Presentation for the customer and saved as a video onto a CD-ROM.
-
Data Tracking (Buzz 3D FootStep™) can enable Land Rover to have knowledge of how the software is being used, eg. what has been viewed, by whom, and how often. Real-time access to this information can be made available via a web interface if required.
