Home > Buzz 3D software Technical data > Output real-time 3D to Video

The Buzz 3D real-time 3D engine, in addition to generating a freely navigable 3D experience, is also capable of playing pre-defined animations and – most importantly – rendering them to disk as video files, in addition to rendering to the screen.  This places Buzz 3D technology in the role of a real-time renderer, capable of being used for the creation of 3D video presentations captured directly from the viewport at any frame-rate and resolution.

Whether AVI, WMV, or Flash file formats (the latter primarily for web application), the power of this process becomes apparent when considering the fact that to achieve a similar video production using conventional renderers (such as 3DS MAX) will typically require several solid DAYS of continuous calculation.

Anyone with 3DS MAX animation experience can easily set up new aspects to animations, including changes to camera views.  Operators then need only run the new animation, press a button, and have their updated video presentation generated for them in a matter of minutes rather than days.

The system is designed to support a wide range of platforms (see Appendix 1 below), including:

  • 320x240 (or similar) for a mobile device.
  • NTSC (North American TV and Region 1 DVD) at 720x540 at 29.97 or 30 fps.
  • PAL (European TV and Region 2 DVD) at 720x576 at 25 fps.
  • Other Regions (3-6).
  • Up to 1080p High Definition, or ‘custom’ ultra-high-def modes up to the maximum supported by the monitor and choice of Video Compressor (CODEC).  It is also worthy of note that there would be no reason why the proposed rendering system could not output to 2160p (3840x2160), which is the ‘next step’ for High Def Television standards, provided the 3D video card can support it.
