Step 4 – Deciding where the compressed version(s) will go

Choose Output Folder

Now choose where you’d like to write the compressed version(s) of your input file(s). It’s often easier to place them in an easy-to-find location. Let’s say that you already have a folder called ‘temp’ in your c: drive (if you don’t, the wizard can create it easily just by typing “c:\temp” into the type-in box, and then pressing ‘Next’). If you’d rather use a different folder of your own choosing, then just select it the same way you did the Input folder in Step 3. Then click ‘Next’.

Note that the Media Converter Wizard will NOT overwrite your original files; if you specify that processed images are to be placed in the same folder as the originals, the output file will be written with a “(2)” after its filename. However, for ease of use we’d always recommend that you place output files in a new folder.
