Step 6 – Conversion Progress

Converting Media

At this stage, the wizard is now reading your original file(s) and writing out the compressed versions of them in the location you have specified. Please be patient – conversion time is dependent upon many factors, but on a typical Pentium 4 PC, you can expect to see an average of 2-4 seconds of real time for every 1 second of video time (ie. a 1 minute video may take between 2 and 4 minutes to process to the end).

The Buzz 3D Video & Graphics Setup Wizard is however fully multi-threaded, and multi-core, so Dual and Quad-Core PC’s will see significant speed benefits in the time taken to process their files.

At any point, you can click ‘Abort’ to stop the procedure.

Handy Tip: After the Source Position counter indicates about 5 seconds or more, you can use your Windows File Explorer to navigate to the destination file and double-click it to play it in your media player. This will give you a chance to see the output of the encoder so far, and to determine if you should abandon encoding and adjust quality.
